Kids and Moms, join us for Clay Club, a monthly
opportunity for
kids aged 2-6 to make things with clay! Great parent and
kid activity.
Create family keepsakes to be cherished for a lifetime!
Fee is $10 for first child, $8 for each additional
child.
Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
First Thursday of each month, 11:00 am - Noon
Pottery studio: 800 Moss Street.
Work will be glazed,
fired and ready to pick up within two weeks.
Nerikomi IV: Designing with Simple Shapes, with Leah, Saturday, May 19, 1-4pm; $35 per person. Learn to create stunning patterned pottery by slicing and layering colorful clay in a process called Nerikomi. This workshop will be an expansion on techniques covered in earlier workshops. Open to all levels of experience, ages 12 and up. Enrollment limited to 12 students.
Millions of Miniatures, with Leah, Saturday, May 26, 1-3pm; $30 per person. It's a miniature smorgasbord! Make miniature food, animals, people, and baubles for dollhouses, jewelry, decoration, or playtime from clay. Open to all ages 8 and up.
Art in the Park, with all staff, Sat-Sun, June 2-3, 10am-4pm; no charge
Come join us at Stephens Lake Park for the 54th annual Art in the Park! We will have a
fun, creative, and comfortably breezy booth on the island in the middle of Stephens Lake.
We will have demos of various art forms, a shady rest area, and modestly priced face painting
for the kids! Hope to see you there!
Inlaid Glaze Decoration, with Stephen, Sat-Sun, June 30 - July 1, 1-4 each day; $35 per person. Learn how to make stunning and graphic designs in glaze with the inlaid glaze technique. Each student will need to bring a piece of GLAZED, but UNFIRED bisque ware to the workshop. It will also be helpful to bring a pattern idea or printout. Bold, simple, figure-ground designs will be most successful. If you have questions about your design you can get in touch with Stephen beforehand. This workshop is open to intermediate and advanced level students only.
Lunchtime Critique, with Matt, Sunday, July 1, 11am-12pm; no charge. Struggling to make your work express your true artistic voice? Trying to develop your signature style? Just want an outside opinion on your work? Bring some of your work, and a snack or lunch to the studio to join in a critique session with a ceramic artist from the community. Get their take on what you've made, and pick their brains on topics like form, function, and style. (Pre-registration not required.)
