Access Arts is extremely fortunate to have a staff of talented people who share their considerable knowledge and skill with the community and one another.  Their dedication to the mission of Access Arts makes it possible for us to have a positive impact on Columbia which is disproportionate to the size and resources of our organization.


Shawna Johnson, executive director
Shawna holds a BFA from the University of Missouri, and has worked as a studio/gallery manager and administrator with different arts organizations in both Columbia and New York.



Joel Watson, ceramics studio manager, instructor
Joel received his BFA in Ceramics from the University of Missouri, and has previously served as an Artist in Residence for Access Arts.  He did post-graduate study at the University of Oregon and was a part of the Maude Kearnes Art Center.

Jenny Sennott, fibers studio manager, instructor
Jenny is something of a legend in the fibers community, and has been teaching and sharing her knowledge at Access Arts for more than 25 years.  She is expert in all varieties of weaving and related fiber arts.

Rune Mussett-Sharp, fibers studio assistant
Rune's background is in Linguistics, Speech Language Pathology and she has taught K through 12, as well as at the university level.  As the Fibers Studio Assistant she combines her two great loves, fiber arts and teaching.
