Cindy Mutrux
For the last twenty five years I have been co-owner of Mutrux Automotive with my husband Ross of 41 years. We are a full service gas station and garage. We are hometown boy and girl who loves our community and our roots are deep.
My greatest accomplishment is truly being a mom and grandmother. Fun for us, is playing in our creek with mud and rocks or creating something artsy. I have always used forms of art with my children and grandchildren, as a way for them to express themselves.
At Mutrux Automotive, I have taken a garage bay and turned this into my studio. I teach glass fusion classes there from time to time to support my habit. I also sell my creations in our store area. Art for me is truly therapy. It has brought me joy and calm. I have also met some amazing people through this journey. Glass is much like people. We are all different shapes, sizes, colors. Some are sharper than others. But in the end, when we combine each individual piece. We are beautiful.

I am the Heart Failure Nurse Navigator for MU Heart and Vascular Clinic at the University of Missouri. I do my Artwork as a way to release stress and decompress.
I believe anyone can do Artwork, especially glass. It is a skill that can be taught, however the artistry comes from within. Art is a great way to relieve stress and reduce anxiety. Access Arts is a great organization that teaches several forms of art. My daughter has taken some pottery classes and really enjoyed them.

I am the Director of Public Relations Strategy at Relevance (a marketing agency in Columbia). I love and support the arts in all their various forms. Personally, my creativity is primarily expressed through writing and video creation. However, I am an avid fan of all types of art, including painting, theater, photography, music, film, etc. What I love most about Access Arts is its dedication to making artistic experiences available to our community."
